Despite it's name, the Australian Shepard was developed in the United States. It's now increasing in popularity because of it's obedient and willing nature,as well as it's natural good looks.Originally bred as a working shepherd suitable for the varied climate of California, the Australian Shepherd has adapted superbly to both family life and work as a service dog,  especially in search and rescue. The breed has a temperament similar to a Golden or Labrador Retriever .
